Meet Kenny Anunike

From the football field to the sidelines—and now to the frontlines of innovation—Kenny Anunike’s journey is one of resilience, purpose, and impact.

Bio

Born in Lewis Center, Ohio, Kenny Anunike is a former NFL defensive end, Super Bowl 50 champion, seasoned coach, and current entrepreneur.

He made his mark at Duke University, earning the nickname “Night Train” for his relentless style of play. Kenny finished his college career with 148 tackles and 15 sacks, becoming one of the most dominant defensive ends in Duke history.

Off the field, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Biological Anthropology & Anatomy from Duke and also completed a master’s degree at the university. He also holds a second master’s degree from The Ohio State University.

In 2014, the Denver Broncos recognized Kenny’s potential and brought him into their organization, where he immediately impressed with his talent and work ethic. He was part of the Broncos’ Super Bowl 50 championship team and showed flashes of high-level play. Unfortunately, a series of injuries prevented him from making an even bigger impact on the field and ultimately led to an early retirement from the NFL.

Determined to stay connected to the game, Kenny transitioned into coaching. He spent three years on the coaching staff at The Ohio State University, contributing to one of the nation’s top programs, and later served as the Defensive Run Game Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach at Fordham University.

Today, Kenny is focused on entrepreneurship. Drawing from his personal experience with injury and recovery, he founded Skelo Wear®—a cutting-edge company that develops AI-powered exoskeletal protective gear for athletes. His mission: to help the next generation stay safer, perform stronger, and extend their careers. In 2024, Skelo Wear was named one of Columbus Business First’s “Startups to Watch.”
